I got the impression that the people behind new Who are enamored of the idea that the Doctor is an alien who wants to be human, and if you make him half-human that kind of rains on their parade. Either that or, being fans of old, they just didn't like it on a personal level and decided to ignore it. The fandom went along with it because there aren't enough of us who were fans before 2005 who also didn't object to the Doctor being half-human.

Personally, I would just like to see Eight on TV again. He does't have to be half-human. Just do a multi-Doctor ep with him! C'mon! I bet that could be fun with Thirteen!

I'd love to see 8 on TV but TBH seeing him on TV even once was already way more than I ever expected

Yeah, I'm fan of both old and new and I just don't see what having a half-human doctor would add to the show at all. We have a Timelord-influenced human in River Song! But the main point is that we need more Eight.

Sigh. I always thought 8 was the dreamiest Doctor. I've never seen his movie though. :(

I'd love to see Eight on TV again too.

Seven and Eight have always been my favourites - I was about 35 when the 50th came out and when Night of the Doctor dropped I seriously spent about five minutes just staring at the screen in disbelief before I could click on it.

And is it just me, or is Paul McGann as the Doctor even hotter now than he was in 1996?
