Kind of inspired by #7 - RPF question
(Anonymous) 2018-08-08 12:02 am (UTC)(link)I mean, I get thinking it's creepy especially when you involve real life spouses and kids cause these are actual people who can potentially stumble across this stuff, but then I see people saying "oh, it's not really about THEM, it's about their public persona, no one knows what they're ACTUALLY like when they're not in front of a camera/on a stage" and...I don't know.
I'm just not sure what the general consensus is anymore. Thoughts?

Tinhatters though are another level of scary and creepy and they can fuck off, especially if they start dragging the kids and SO's of said celebs into their mess.

I can only imagine how frustrating it is dealing with them in-fandom.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-08 01:19 am (UTC)(link)The "public persona" line doesn't realy work for me because I used to be involved in the music industry and spent a lot of time backstage at concerts large and small, and most of the musicians are not putting on a persona. What tone of voice they use for fans and what antics they perform on stage amount to nothing more than customer service, at best, deliberate fanservice at worst.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-08 01:47 am (UTC)(link)If others do it? Well, I still don't care for it, but I'm not going to say anything unless they're being creepy af about it, and showing it to the celeb or getting waaaay too serious about a fantasy and attacking anything/anyone in the celeb's life that contradicts the fantasy.
