Our aircon died. It is 97 degrees outside. I've got two fans on the cat and me, and we're still both miserable.

That really fucking sucks. I'm sorry. I'm sweating under a fan right now, but at least it's 90 degrees here, not 97. Humid as hell though.

Jeeesus. We're having a "heatwave" over here in the UK, but it's nowhere near as high as that and it's only because we're so used to cold/rainy summers that we even classify it as a heatwave. :( I hope your aircon gets fixed soon. I feel so bad for pets in this weather, too. Our cat has been in a permanent 'trying to cool off' sprawl.

And the fixer guy says the system is completely shot. His company can give us temporary cooling units for individual rooms once we sign a contract for a new aircon. But that won't be until at least tomorrow.

You have my sympathies. One time the A/C broke down in my old house in June in the south, and let's just say the parental units couldn't be bothered to fix it for two weeks. But they had no problem leaving the doors and windows open during the night and letting all the lovely bugs in ¬_¬

I feel you. I don't have AC at all and I'm on the fourth floor and it's been insanely hot and disgustingly muggy this summer. :(

Last time this happened to me I made a sort of reverse kotatsu by tenting the fan under the coffee table and sticking bags of ice in front of it. Helped until the ice melted, lol.
