As much as I appreciate it, I'm not sure that's a good comparison. He had a career and likely other connections prior to this. Also, I'm not male. (And yes, no matter how much we try to make that not matter and claim it doesn't matter, it absolutely matters in this field.)

Not saying things will never change in the future, but I need to be realistic in the present.
