Re: What are some of the craziest houses you have seen?

Went to see this house built in the late 1800s. The formerly external basement entrance had been enclosed with a small addition, which was good, but the second floor (which was really just a mostly-unfinished walk-up attic that would have needed a ton of work since the first floor "bedrooms" were more like closets that wouldn't even fit a queen-sized bed) was only accessible through the BATHROOM. The house had one bathroom, definitely not original and clearly a DIY. The floor and lower part of the shower stall (no tub) were poured concrete and actually pretty well done. Still, there was a narrow staircase leading from the bathroom up to the attic/second floor and that was the only way up. Hella awkward.

There were also several houses I only saw in pictures that had carpeted kitchens. Those were an immediate NO so I didn't even bother asking for a showing. Who carpets a kitchen and thinks that's a good idea?
