I’m still mad that he’s “hot” at all. He should look like a dessicated corpse and sound like a god, not look like he stepped from a cheap romance novel cover and sound like a five pack a day smoker. At least this one doesn’t fuck rats, I guess.

AYRT—Dario Argento did a (very) loosely inspired version of PotO with Julian Sands as a non-deformed, long-haired blond whackjob who was, idk, raised by rats? And at one point he puts rats down his trousers. Argento’s daughter played Christine, which was almost creepier than the rat thing. Ironically, parts of it were filmed at the actual Palais Garnier.

That was better/worse than I could have imagined. I could forgive the rat fucking, but the daughter as the romance lead is purestrain something that makes me want to claw my eyes out. Thank you, anon, for blessing me with this knowledge that the Phantom of the Opera could always become much more than what I've always thought of it.

DA Oh, he directed a lot of movies where terrible things happened to his daughter (she is Asia Argento, more recently in the news as the partner of Anthony Bourdain).
