Second official day of unemployment and I have a ear infection so I’m going to got to the doctor for the first time in 6 years tomorrow :/

Being incredibly bored and in pain and just generally miserable. And hungry for some reason.

Tired of the day. Probably going to self-medicate with knocking out another chapter of the game I'm playing. Assuming power doesn't get knocked out.

did some grocery shopping w/ my roomie and going to go have drinks w/an atheist group I belong to tonight.

Dividing my time between:

1) really, really hoping my one coworker will agree when i see her tomorrow to swap her opening shift for my closing shift on saturday, so I can go to Michigan Comic con and see Jewel Staite's panel that afternoon (+ maybe get a photo w her)

and 2) being frustrated that my closted bi ass now lives far enough away from my conservative family that I theoretically COULD explore my lady-likin' side without them finding out, but 30 years of strict repression and denial have left me with no idea how one goes about meeting other queer ladies or finding female-oriented queer spaces

Well I’m at work and I almost decked an old lady on reflex just now because first she touched my hair and then gathered it up and touched the back of my neck. She was complimenting my hair but my hindbrain doesn’t give a fuck, ffs don’t touch me, especially where I can’t see you! Freaking out in the bathroom right now. Rationally I know it’s no big deal but augh!

god, I don't blame you for being pissed. what is with old people with no idea of personal space?!

AYRT—I wish I’d only been pissed instead of panicked and pissed and a lot of the pissed was at myself for panicking. I don’t even deal well with family or friends touching me, even when I can see ahead of time that they’re going in for a hug or whatever.

A stranger touching me from behind is automatically an eldritch horror from dimension X, a knife-wielding maniac, or a garden-variety sexual-asaulting scumbag as far as my hindbrain is concerned.

I mean, I also think it’s a rude thing to do, but I deal with the public all day and some are gonna be assholes. But random dickbags don’t send me running to the bathroom to splash water on my face while I get my breathing, heartrate, overclocked fight or flight response, and beginnings of a crying jag under control.

I'm with you, I'd HATE that. You just don't mess with a stranger's hair like that, how hard is that for some people to grasp?

Yeah, that's just going way to far with a stranger! It's not even advisable with someone you have a relationship with where hair- and neck-touching is fine, if they aren't aware it was you coming up behind them.

Playing the new WoW expansion, new things to dooooooo.

My friend who moved across the country is visiting today and I can't wait to see her!

Make test cupcakes (just an excuse to eat some of them) for some cupcakes my coworker asked me to make for another co-worker's goodbye shindig on friday. A thing I will not be at because I am off that day, lol. Oh well, I'm keeping some of them for me so... >__>

Worked most of the day, spent several hours on tvtropes. Thinking of going to bed now, even though it is only 8:30.

went to the doc to get two conspicuous birthmarks removed... the anaesthesia starts to wear off and it starts to hurt :/

gonna lay low today and get some of my reading done. maybe some laundry.
