I.... don't know. I want to like him, but maybe I'm just too suspicious and cynical to really believe in him, you know?

Also I have incredibly mixed feelings about his shows. The restaurants that he showcases are usually really good, granted. But I feel like the overall effect of his show on American eating is kind of negative. Being featured on his show sets these places apart, and freezes them in amber, so that they become nothing more than A Place That Was On Guy Fieri - popular, but also strongly incentivized to do nothing but play the hits. Like, at some level, the places that Fieri visits shouldn't be special. They should be commonplace. Being able to eat good, fresh, locally-made, affordable food should be a birthright, not something that needs to be advertised and pointed out.

IDK I think about this shit too much, I'm an idiot.
