What if they’re 200% into generic maledom?

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
What makes you think that's an exception? Generic maledom tends to be dubconny and ravishy anyway

Also equally annoying, especially when they have posts about how all women are this and all men are that and all women want a man to dominate them and such. Like, everyone in the world shares their fantasies and all women are alike. No.

I mean I don't judge 'em but I'm comfortable assuming that their content just isn't for me

it's not my vibe, you know

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
For sure. Truth in advertising, up front, is good: I'd rather turn away then then find out in two years someone whose company and discourse I've come to enjoy is into something I can't stomach.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
This. I'm not going to hide what I'm into because it's stuff that's going to be coming up on my blog, so if you're not into my kinks then my blog is not for you and that's fine.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they just keep a tumblr full of that content for themselves and don't care about having friends..?

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, idk, my Tumblr is linked to my AO3 and I warn p much immediately that I write a fair amount of noncon etc so nobody follows me who isn't into that. I'd rather people know up front what I'm going to be writing about.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd think the warning counts as the first impression there then. Not like suddenly unwarned for horse penis. At least I assume OP means that by them posting open and casually = no warning

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Works like a charm at filtering out annoying people, though!

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't want to be fandom friends with someone like you tbh. I have to hide my kinks and dark fantasies in real life, if I can't have fun without having to worry on the internet, what's the point of fandom?

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
If it is an anonymous sex blog I'd guess their kink would be the whole point? I'd be more shocked if they did it on Facebook for their boss and grandmother to see.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that would fall under the "blogs dedicated to porn" exception

(Anonymous) 2018-08-17 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
*is a Margaret**mildly annoyed at the uncalled for accusation* I keep my porn to myself, TYVM.

*not actually all that upset, just needed to comment since I'm a Margaret* :)

Hahahahaha

I agree.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Um, does this secret really need warning for shota/bestiality/rape? Sure, the words are mentioned, but there's no actual shota/bestiality/rape?

(And isn't shota fictional per definition? I might be wrong here, but isn't shota is a comic/manga genre?)

(Anonymous) 2018-08-26 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you're thinking of shounen, a demographic aimed at young boys. Shota is a different thing.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE LOVE secrets like this one.

I don't judge ANYONE
BUT....
If you do X or are into X then I will JUDGE the FUCK out of you!

Ain't no hypocrite like FANDOM hypocrite!

BTW I hate all that NC shit, underage, and animal stuff. But I will judge you to your face instead of taking smack behind your back.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
That's not what this secret says? They say they don't judge for having kinks, but they do judge for how openly they're presented to strangers. I don't find that hypocritical of OP at all.

I wouldn't judge someone for being into puppy play for example but I would judge that they choose to bring it up to their coworkers or something. I definitely see those two things as very different aspects of someone's character.

Eh. Why hide your kinks and fic preferences in a space wholly dedicated to fandom? If you're comfortable letting it all hang out - go for it. Not like you have to interact with them.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-18 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Personally, I would much rather people be open about what they like so I can make an informed decision about whether or not to follow them. You're into loli/shota? Ehhhh, not really my thing. You like relationships with questionable power dynamics and noncon/dubcon? Sign me the hell up for that.

You're still judging them for being into it by feeling like that's an issue but some miscellaneous other kinks wouldn't be. If you said "I judge people who don't put all their sex stuff on a separate sideblog," or "I judge people who don't put all their sex stuff behind a cut," or something, then fine - but that's not what you're doing, because what you're doing actually is still judging people for their fictional kinks. Why should someone who likes fictional bestiality be judged more harshly for being open about it than someone who likes fictional vore, or fictional figging, or fictional sounding? (Or real-life figging or sounding, for that matter, too.) The only reason is that you do think those kinks are worse and more objectionable. If it was about just exposing other people to sexual content they might not be expecting - which I personally do judge people for, I think you should give people fair warning, but I'm fine with people being open about it so long as that's the case - then you wouldn't be focusing in on those specific things.

I mean...it’s their blog? They can be as open and honest as they want on their own blog lol.
