Re: What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever done at work?

At my current job - Fell up the stairs on my first day in front of a colleague I hadn't even met yet. Accidentally said "I love you" instead of "thank you" to a customer. Did an early morning shift after two hours of sleep and just as a customer walked through the door, my mouth decided to go "GOOD MORNING CAN I GET YOU ANYTHING ELSE TODAY?" Asked a bald man if the hair scrunchie I'd found next to the till was his.

OMG I did the I love you thing on the phone once a long long time ago (I can still remember) because I always say 'love you' when hanging up with my brother/parents and my brain apparently forgot I was at work.

Lol, at least I'm not alone! Thankfully the customer just found it really funny and said "You're not quite awake yet, are you?" I wanted the ground to swallow me. :[

Hee, oh, man, I can relate so much-I worked at a bookstore and made my own version of the "Can I get you anything else today?" goofs I don't know how many times :p. And there were times I'd call people to tell them an order was in and, due to the fact I had numerous order slips in front of me, would sometimes accidentally say the wrong name. Ah, the joys of customer service, huh?

Your "I love you" one made me giggle :D.
