I kind of miss living in a college town where classical concerts are cheap. Also, pop concerts are loud and crowded for my comfort.

Likewise, but I was in the college philharmonic performing them.

...this has given me a life-long hatred of Mahler. Long-winded bastard.

I was second violin for five years and viola for three, so for me it's Strauss.

-- de de / -- de de / -- do do / -- de de / -- de de / -- de de / do!

I hated waltzing fundraisers.

(although it could be worse Rita Monero described this clip where she had to find her place and do comedy against a bass line that was the same note repeated for over 40 measures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoIZQh1IjI8 )

Ah! You know my second violin pain! TWENTY MINUTES OF TREMELO HIGH FIVE.

I don't think my maestro liked Strauss, because I don't ever remember having to play him.

(That clip is fantastic.)
