I think the format has gotten pretty stale. They never do anything daring any more. And it really depends on the chefs as to whether they're interesting - when Michael O'Hare was on it was absolutely amazing. He made a fish and chip dish that looked like a black hand holding a lump of coal on a black-spattered art canvas. Best of all, everyone said it tasted delicious. I'd love to go to that guy's restaurant.

Well, that's certainly imaginative, but I could never bring myself to eat it. It doesn't look like food at all.

See, for me that falls under the category of Creative But Doesn't Look/Sound Like Something I'd Want to Eat, which is my issue with most of the dishes. I'm not questioning the skill or innovation but... it doesn't sound appetizing. If that was a piece of art, I'd be intrigued. But I dislike the idea of eating something that looks like it was raked out of a muddy ditch by the highway, and I'm a fairly adventurous eater.
