I think that would be an acceptable usage? Or just "the god that I worship" or "my god" or something like that could also work. I don't think there's really one specific correct formulation for it.

+1 as a possibility - I asked someone raised (relatively informally) in Hinduism and he said it was along the lines of “pay special attention to this one” when at the temple or “this is the one we keep with us/in our house”.
