I've always wanted to try smoking a pipe, too. I don't smoke at all (occasional hookah with friends, maybe) but I think it'd be fun to try. Was it terrible?

No, not terrible at all. More effort than reward, imo, tho.

Loading it properly took too long, lighting it took longer. Exhaling the smoke was kinda fun, and there was a rather neat sense of heat in the back of my throat / top of my chest that was an interesting experience but honestly I didn't really feel it worth the cost or the time.

I haven't even tried a hookah, so I had that, I'm sure common first timer experience of suppressing my coughing.
