/shrug Maybe an unpopular opinion, but as much as I liked the idea of Yondu's character and his relationship with Peter being explored, I thought GotG did a clumsy job of it. It was rushed and felt exploited purely for that "... but he wasn't your daddy!" moment. I'm all for pathos, but that didn't feel earned to me. I wish it had been.

Well for another example Gamora and Nebula’s scenes in that film. 90% of Ragnarok was either played for comedy or followed up with a joke. Gunn used a lot of comedy but knew when to dial it back.

IA that was handled better than the whole Yondu/Peter relationship. But in general, I'm not necessarily bothered by jokes and comedy combined with action and tragedy. Thor Ragnarok strongly signalled that it was going to be more comedic than the previous Thor movies and I appreciated the breath of fresh air and fun.
