BUT THEN I had a conversation with a guy I know who's a small-time actor about how he's been bashed in the past, and all he said was "I'm an actor, I'm fair game."

You know, that's pretty much been my default on any celebrity whining about people being mean to them or whatever in the past, but in this particular situation, it just feels different.

This isn't people on ONTD or The Superficial making fun of some actress for sleeping with a married guy, or an actor for crashing his Lexus because he was drunk. This was a website created solely for the purpose of making fun of one person over and over, twisting thing's he'd said ten years ago to make him sound retarded, to the point where they were planning a public 'campaign' of fliers and such. And yes, I know they claimed the campaign was only to sing his praises, but did he know that? Why would he think they were suddenly going to try and help his career when they'd been trashing him for months in a public arena?

Nobody seems to be considering the possibility that Jensen/Jensen's management realized it was satire but still didn't want it out there, particularly when the site was talking about campaigning and promoting him and the like. What on earth made them think that would be a good idea?

I know what you mean. I'd personally HATE to discover something like that about me, even if it was made in humour. Someone involved was asked how they'd feel and they said "I'd think it was hilarious!" but I do think that's bullshit. Personal attacks are never fun.

I'm so PENSIVE about all of this because the people who I know who were involved with the site really aren't bad people, but at the same time it doesn't make him a bad person to have tried to stop this, IF he did (which I still have my doubts about).
