I think I like Dean the most on a personal level. During the second season I was pretty much always on his side and wondered why the hell Rory didn't just break up with him already. She strung Dean along long after she stopped having romantic feelings for him. I didn't like that he cheated on his wife, obviously but I had some sympathy for him since he clearly threw himself into that relationship to get over Rory.

I hated Jess. It wasn't how he treated Rory, it was how he treated Luke. Luke supported him, backed him up, defended him to everyone and Jess treated that love like it was nothing. He wasn't great to Rory, either. I didn't understand how they fit together. All they shared was books. Dean at least shared Rory's Star's Hallow world and got along well with Lorelai and Logan shared school Rory.

I also like that Logan seemed to always be on Rory's level and never acted like she was the only thing in his life, so it was more balanced. But even then it wasn't great.
