OP, what's the Catholic-flavored moral discourse? I'm interested because the more I learn about Catholicism, the more I "nope" out of it.

there's a lot of religious symbolism in LOTR, it's less obvious than the Narnia books but that's saying absolutely nothing. Boromir's redeeming himself morally right before his death is only one example.

The difference between LOTR is that in LOTR, it's all big, thematic similarities; in Narnia, Aslan literally is Jesus.
