I remember the furry episode, and it was...well. We all have a certain threshold of expectation that no matter how "in tune" a show or movie is with the concept of fandom they take liberties for the sake of drama, bury facts, etc. And so it was with CSI, but I didn't find it egregious. The main casts' reaction to a furry convention were way over the top but otherwise it wasn't the worst portrayal of a fandom I've ever seen. The murder story itself was pretty far-fetched but at the same time I've heard weirder true stories in my life, so.

Catherine being weirded out by the furries struck me as kinda silly. She's a stripper, you'd think she'd seen far more outre stuff.

On the other hand, as a stripper, it's likely she mostly saw straight dudes who like to look at naked women. That's pretty bog standard stuff.
