Same with films for me. If I'm reading correctly, this is about spoiling things that are old, right? If that's the case, yeah.

I want to watch Liz Taylor's "Cleopatra" or other oldies like "Ben-Hur", "Citizen Kane", "Spartacus", "Gone with the Wind", "The Robe", "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Rebecca", or films like "The Hunt for Red October", "Batman", "The Addams Family", "Superman", "Star Wars", "Carrie", "Jaws", "Close Encounters", "Inception and any of the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel Cinematic Universe or James Bond films without being spoiled by those who've seen it and holds a snobbish value by saying "but they're old!". It doesn't matter because not many people have the luxury of sitting down to watch these movies and enjoy the wonder of cinema.

But it's really not that hard to avoid spoilers for most of the things on that list.

At least, with the TV series OP mentions, their argument is that they want to engage with fandom while they're still watching the show - they don't want to wait to finish S7 of whatever show before they start reading fanworks. But with this, just... watch Ben-Hur, or don't read anything about Ben-Hur until you get a chance to watch it.

Then watch them. What is stopping you? If you get spoiled, tough shit. Honestly, for those older things it isn't like anyone is going to be talking about them unless you go to thread specifically about spoilers or that thing.
