Sorry, am I misunderstanding the purpose of this community? I made a secret based on how I feel. I don't expect anything from having it be posted. Yeesh, this really wasn't that serious.

I'm fairly new to fandomsecrets and this was my first secret posted. I guess I don't get this community still :/

Welcome to the fun!

I've only been here a few months myself. I think you should feel good that your secret generated a lot of discussion.

It's slightly bad luck because people have been arguing about spoilers for decades so everyone kind of has a very well-established feeling about it already. And sometimes we just get into dumb unreasonable arguments about stuff.

I hope the reaction isn't too off-putting - I think it's a reasonable opinion, even if it would be a little hard to put into effect in practice in some circumstances.

of course it's not serious. most of the replies aren't that serious either, it's what passes for discussion and it's actually a pretty healthy discussion all things considered.

be happy that your secret got people riled up! what's actually unpleasant around here is when a secret doesn't garner any comments at all.

don't worry, we'll all forget about it tomorrow and then we'll have a new thing to pointlessly debate with the ounce of energy we have right at that moment.

You're misunderstanding the part where this is a community in which people comment on and discuss posted secrets... Were you expecting no response at all?

It isn't anything personal OP. People argue and get fired up about stuff. Honestly, I prefer people get heated up about my secrets! Better than no comments at all.

Sometimes people get overheated and spoilers are one of those topics always getting people overheated.
There's always a lot of people saying they will never warn for spoilers because how dare you not have seen the episode the SECOND it aired for them in their timezone
and then there's a lot of people saying they will not watch ANYTHING unless they know every detail of the plot, all the spoilers, they can't possibly enjoy anything where they might be in the least bit surprised!!!
So yes, you're fighting a losing battle against the vocal pro-spoilers, which sucks, because I get it, most of the time I don't want spoilers it ruins some amazing moments. The exception being character death of faves where I'd like to be prepared beforehand but that's not hard and fast, I've been shocked and it's had more of an impact. It should be your choice how much you get spoiled for things.
