I've never really been bothered by spoilers. As a matter of fact, I've been pretty grateful for them for a couple of things - letting me know about something I didn't actually want to see, letting me anticipate something I did, or letting me know about something I didn't know I wanted to watch until I knew it had the spoiler in it. There are maybe a couple of times that I would have benefited more from being spoiler-free. And sometimes I forget I knew about the spoiler until it's happening, which is actually quite interesting.

I'm going to use the analogy of holding the door from upthread for spoilers for older media. I think somebody holding the door (putting a spoiler tag/cut) is nice, but not expected. I would try to do it if I thought of it, but I wouldn't get on anyone's case if they didn't, nor would I expect anyone to get on my case if I didn't. A lot of people just don't really think to hold the door, and that just means you have to get the door yourself (avoid discussions and fandom activities where spoilers could be until you finish watching/reading). If someone slams the door in your face (spoils you when you ask not to be spoiled), that should not be expected, that is uncalled for and rude and I would understand being upset about that (and I know there are some people that do that).
