What video game looked great, but you played and hated?

Sims Medieval. I wish you could just let it all be free play. I know after a certain amount of points you get to a free play world, but it would've been nice to have had at the start.

Also, I wish time passed. That would make more sense, especially if your monarch has kids. I'd rather do a dynasty with free play.

That's a good answer. It had some fun points, but it was boggling that you couldn't just create houses from scratch and free play. Why not just recolor Sims with the medieval fantasy overlay? That would've been so fun.

AYRT: Yes! I think they were trying to make The Sims more... gamer-ish? But the Sims players like The Sims exactly for what it is.

I guess you can get costumes, but that's not at all the same thing. I liked the fantasy/medieval overlay, just not the lack of free play.

I guess they were trying to make it more "quest" based to sort of reflect the fantasy. I could understand that following your characters around town to do quests was more interesting than just staying at home with them. But no reason they had to make it a glorified dollhouse game!

City: Skylines. I just wanted something like SimCity. City;Skylines was just so complicated. I returned it after like two hours.

Binding of Isaac... I was ready for Nintendo Hard, but the control scheme replaced all the fun with obscenity-screaming frustration.

The World Ends With You. It's not that it's a bad game but I'm just not a good enough gamer to keep track of that combat system. And then my friend had to give me a patronizing little lecture about how if I had just gotten more information about the game in advance I would have known I wouldn't like it. (That's true, but it was still annoying.)

I got into the fighting system eventually but I admit I nearly dropped it in the beginning as well.
