Same. I don't think that any of the remaining candidates would be particularly good rulers. Maybe Jon, Dany and Cersei will all get killed and they'll start the Democratic republic of White walkers instead.

Well, I would totally want Sansa on the throne, except that I'm more invested in her becoming the glorious queen in the north that we all know she could be.

Jon will probably get it after Dany dies in battle or something. Meh. To me, Jon feels like a particularly egregious mediocre-white-man scoops the pot with an annoying side of chosen-white-savior....

If Jon ends up on the Iron Throne? I"m done. No. Just, killing off the female heir to give it to a man? Fuck that. But I'm still mad about the whole Raegar married Lyana thing. Nope. I wanted Jon to be a Targaryen, but an illegitimate one.

True, but Jon is the least objectionable one that I can think of. I want Sansa as the Stark in the North, I super-dislike Tyrion and Jaime and Cersei...and who else is left? Arya's path isn't leading her to anything like a happy ending and I'm concerned that Dany is going to go out with her dragons...

If I'd end it the way I would want it, it would be a detente between Dany (with Tyrion) in the South and Sansa in the North (with Arya and Bran at her side), Jon...er, sigh, I assume married to Dany.
(all just my personal opinion BTW, I stopped reading for a long time after the Red Wedding and the Starks are my absolute faves).

100% agree. Illegitimate Targaryen Jon stumbling into monarchy as a Stark was what I was thinking would happen, but making him legitimate and ousting Dany completely by lineage? Bullshit.

I've stopped caring as well. I'm not sure how much this is to do with the fact I feel like we've been waiting for the next book forever or the fact that I've been more cold than warm with the TV show lately.

All I think is that no matter who "wins" a significant amount of people will be unhappy regardless.

I am sick of the TV show. But I admit it, I would like to know too, mostly because I'm increasingly concerned that GRRM will not finish the series.

I just want to see Jaime and Brienne reunite. A little scene where he's happy for her and Tormund would be the absolute highlight of the whole series for me. But just an awkward little reunion will do.

I don't think Jaime is nearly good enough for Brienne. He's latched himself back onto Cersei and is probably going to die killing her or defending her. He had a brief moment of freedom and a possibility of redemption when he was away, but that was all spoiled for me when he killed the Queen of Thorns. And allowed Cersei to drive their son to suicide.

I'd rather see her with Jaime but I really don't think it's gonna happen. But I can see her hooking up with Tormund and honestly, as long as she's happy I'm good. I hope she survives but I am 100% certain Jaime won't, 90% certain Tormund won't, and 75% certain she won't.

This makes me so glad I never really waded into that corner of the fandom. I love their chemistry and low key ship them but have to be very careful choosing fic because the shippers are all batshit and Sandor is so wildly OOC. He's an unapologetic asshole! And they just really don't see that at all.
