The appraisal on the house I want to buy FINALLY came back. And it is $3,000 higher than the asking cost. So now we just need to settle on a closing date and move.

My boss heard that my phone got wrecked by the heavy rain the other day, and bought in his spare one for me to use today. I promised to give it back as soon as mine's fixed but he just said I could keep it. It's such a sweet gesture and I'm so grateful. <3

One of my cats is sleeping on my legs right now. She came over of her own volition & I feel very loved because she usually prefers my dad's company.

Also, I'm halfway through the book I'm reading & motivating myself to read has been especially difficult this year, so I'm counting it as a win.

I talked about the trip before, but I figured out today that next year I am going to be able to go to Europe to see not one but two concerts by my favorite band (Die Ärzte), one in Italy and one in Germany (I have the tickets already) and I will see my very good friend in Germany. (I'm in California.) I'm so happy I'm almost afraid to talk about it.

Lately, just about every scene between Jack and Phryne in the Miss Fisher Mysteries. Nathan Lane's reactions are just marvelous.

Every Tana French book has warm funny everyday interactions sprinkled between the murder scenes and heavy angst.

There are two I can think of.

The first is from Justified. It is the conversation Art and Tim have in the car that might have explosives. Where he talks about only having PTSD when he is handling a gun.

The other is one of my all time favorite Supernatural scenes. It is the conversation between Lucifer and Castiel in Carthage. I love the lighting. I love how fascinated Lucifer is with Castiel and how he tries to sympathize with him. I love how Lucifer seems to be warming his hands over the fire. I love Castiel telling Lucifer he won't get Sam. Love love love John Rogers' focus on character relationships in Leverage and The Librarians, especially those that give insight into the weirdness of their lives.

Leverage: in "The Girls'/Boys' Night Out Jobs:, Peggy and "Alice" in the bar, and the guys playing poker with Bonanno!

Librarians: Stone befriending the Chupacabra offscreen, to the horror of Ezekiel and Cassandra, and "Chupacabra jerky" meaning jerky that the Chucacabra cooked. And then him eating it in the background later!

I can lick my elbow, chug a pint of beer in one go and remember song lyrics after one or two listens. None have come in handy yet.

There's this finger thing I can do. I dunno what you call it but you know how you bring your index and middle fingers together to imitate a pair of scissors? I can do it with my ring and pinky fingers. And my middle and ring fingers. I can also do both at once (index/middle finger scissor and ring/pinky finger scissor). I can do it on both hands simultaneously.

I can also make my index finger and pinky touch from the non-palm side of my hand, though only on one hand. =P

What, from you guys’s perspectives, is the point of living? Not the meaning of life, but the reason to exist. I live (and I don’t plan to change that), but I see no real reason why I do, and I’m curious what other people see. I know it depends on one’s individual life, but tell me: what’s the point, for you?
