Re: Fandom secrets you're too lazy to make
(Anonymous) 2018-09-27 07:54 am (UTC)(link)I'm quitting League, mainly because I've got stuff I need to focus on IRL and LoL was taking too much of my time and energy. But I also feel like the toxicity of the community has been getting to me.
I always feel like I'm stuck in games with either a) toxic players who flame anyone that doesn't meet their standards (god FORBID someone use an unconventional rune page/item build on a champion) or b) terrible players who have zero clue about how to play the game (pro-tip kids if you're 30 minutes into a game and your vision score is zero, don't complain when you get caught out by the enemy team because they were hidden in the fog of war).
It really blows because I love playing the game itself - I love learning champion mechanics, pulling off counterplays and outplays, working together with a good team. But League has become so filled with negativity that even when I win a game I don't feel any pride or happiness, just relief that "Thank God that's done, I don't have to deal with these assholes anymore".
(And yeah I've tried finding friends to play with but whenever I friend someone on League there's like a 99% chance they end up being toxic as well so yay, back to square one)
