103. Meatspace friends can be fairweather as easily as cyberspace ones; I suspect most folks who say they like their particular Internet friends better are in this situation. Meatspace is a better medium for bonding a lot of the time, however.

Still, I usually approach it thusly: an overdose of boring women in any given work reflects more poorly on the writer or writers than on fans. Fans can't help it if the canon is deficient in some way or another.

152. You forgot us poor unfortunate souls who've never owned any Sony consoles. Really, I'd love to play the whole Metal Gear Solid series after the good things I've heard, but as it is I'll have to settle for the GameCube remake of the first. Unless a certain obscure series comes back to life as rumoured, I ain't buying no PS3.

162. Here's what I don't get: they're clearly both sapient, so... what's the big deal? Ship on, sister.

152. PS2s are cheap now! And it has a fantastic library of games (including a set of the first three MGS games for $30).

And what certain obscure series? Because I really need more reasons besides MGS4 to crave a PS3...

Well, rumour has it on an Ecco fansite that the series creator (the site owner says his ID's been verified somehow) is trying to either get SEGA to let him make a real sequel to Tides of Time or buy the rights back entirely. If he manages either, he wants to make the game for PS3 and XBOX 360.

As it stands now I'm happy with my Wii and maybe some more back-buying in the future, but I'd seriously buy the Ecco game and then save up one of those consoles if it truly came to pass.

PS2s are cheap and have some great games. Don't worry about a PS3, MGS4 is fully skippable.

PS2 is definitely high on the list of things to back-buy once I actually have some money. I heard the PS3 was originally backwards compatible but now isn't or something?

I don't know, I've heard MGS4 is a mindscrew... and I love me some mindscrews. I kind of have to at least tolerate them as an Ecco fan, after all

PS3 plays PS2 and PS1 games. I know this because I use it for those way more often than I use it for actual PS3 games.

That said, PS2 is cheap now and there are years worth of great games to occupy yourself with. I'd go with that.

Well, I won't get too hopeful until we see some press releases, so you can save your 599 US Dollars or whatever it is at this point for now. :)
