I have 45 friends on Facebook but not one of them is my real friend. When I post good news nobody's happy for me. When I post bad news nobody sympathises. When I joke nobody laughs. When I ask for advice nobody says a word. I don't get a single response, like or comment on any of my posts and I try not to care but it does get to me when I see how much activity my "friends" get on even the most pointless posts. I vented here about it before and you all said it's probably just the algorhythm on Facebook making them miss my posts, but how could it make ALL of them miss ALL my posts? I'm really not THAT boring.

I can relate.

The thing is that we are all definitely that boring, but social media makes us believe that some of us are fascinating and worthy of admiration for like... eating a bowl of cereal.

Don't base your self-worth on your social media profiles. It's a game and you are not playing it.

This. I mean, I have a FB account because I have cousins that live hither and yon and it's the easiest way to keep up with each other, but I am very rarely on it, so if someone is counting on my like or comment to boost their morale, it ain't gonna happen.
