My friend wasn't a chainsmoker, but she smoked heavily. She died a few month ago, before she reached 60. I was dreadfully upset at losing her. Then I was angry with her for throwing her life away. Then I thought, "She loved smoking more than her own life, more than her partner and her dog, more than me and her other friends. Why am I getting upset? She chose that." And I've felt kinda blank ever since - even while missing her.

In other words, yes, I judge smokers. Especially the ones who smoke around kids and animals, who have no choice but to put up with it.
