Related: I've been kinda worried about AO3 becoming a single point of failure for fanfic, in that if it goes down that's it. There's no coming back from the loss of *that much* fanfic.

I worry about that, too. That's one reason I like to post everything in 3 places.

Of course, that doesn't solve the problem of losing everyone else's :(

I just download literally every fic I read. From my browsing history, you'd think I don't spend much time there, but that's because I open a potential fic, hit download, and peace out. It's saved me multiple times when authors decide to nuke their shit and take down a favorite fic of mine, and lets me read offline. I do the same for my own fics for easy .epub backups.
