I'm not trying to be mean here, but if your anxiety is that severe maybe not participating in an exchange is best. IME they can be stressful because you're worried about expectations and deadlines. I've modded exchanges before and I've had the experience where people sign up for them with the best of intentions but it's sort of like buying a cute outfit in a smaller size in hopes it'll inspire one's dieting. I don't think it's a good idea and frankly, it's very frustrating when people sign up and then have to withdraw later because it makes more work for me. I don't reprimand people for it, but I'm not real happy about the exchange being used that way when they know there's a good chance they won't be able to fulfill their obligations.

What I would suggest is maybe addressing the reason why the sign ups make you feel anxious and how to manage it more effectively. If the mods seem amenable, you could ask them for suggestions and ideas.
