nayrt but this tired cliche again? I'm an adventurous eater and have done some traveling around the world. I love food, everything from a sloppy diner burger to raw sea urchin to curry. British food has a bad rep, but honestly, the people who sneer at it are generally people who are self-loathing or don't actually know much about it or both. In the UK, I enjoyed:

* full english breakfast
* afternoon teas
* fish and chips - DELICIOUS
* steak and kidney pies
* prawn sandwiches
* curries, which at this point have their own uniquely British category separate from Indian cuisine
* Cornish pasties, several tasty varieties

While it's not as food-obsessed of a culture as say, France, IMO the UK does respectably well and that's the traditional stuff up there. I didn't get to try any modern British cuisine or fancy restaurants.

Clotted cream, anything with black currant, prawn sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork roast with the cracklin on it...

Yorkshire puddings. And dessert puddings of any description - jam roly-poly, spotted dick, etc.

Spotted dick made with currants and covered in custard is AMAZING.

Also, jersey potatoes.

I fucking love yorkshire puddings. They're so easy to make too, but I live alone and I don't need to be eating a whole tray full on my own.

Ignorant vegetarian Yank here but aren’t yorkshire puddings like US popovers, but made with drippings/rendered fat instead of/in addition to butter? If I’monly making a couple popovers I just fill the other cups with water instead of batter. If you’re used to making one big one, like a dutch baby/dutch pancake, just use a muffin tin.

I don't know what a popover is, lol. So I can't argue the similarities, but yeah I could probably just like, quarter the recipe or something.
