The weather has been windy and cloudy and cold all day and I really want it to rain. We got a little drizzle earlier in the week, but I wish we’d get a proper downpour or twenty. So many people around here are pissed whenever it rains and complain that they live here for the nice weather. I always want to tell them that they can move to Death Valley or the parts of north Africa where it rains every hundred years or so and see what it would look like here without rain or unsustainable artificial irrigation. Also why the fuck are all the “I hate rain I wish it would never rain again haha” people lawn devotees? Fuck lawns, grow something useful or native or at least beautiful.

I feel your lawn hate. I think a patch of grass that has a function and is suitable for the conditions is one thing, but vanity lawn is a weird rich people thing I never understood. Same with paving an entire yard and then having to put up a structure for shade. You know what else makes shade? Trees, you dickhead.

AYRT—Lawns in places where they get lots of rain and have lots of sheep and rabbits and other lawnmowers with legs is fine. Lawns that have to be doused with fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and more water than it would take to grow a vegetable garden, and then need to be mowed, are ridiculous. I never even see kids playing on them or anyone out relaxing on a lawn chair.
