I'm Australian. Halloween is at least entertaining - Thanksgiving is dull revisionism, turkey is dry and bland, and pumpkin gets boring very quickly.

The political-historical aspects of Thanksgiving aren't just revisionist in their understanding of history; they're also revisionist in their understanding of Thanksgiving, which doesn't have any intrinsic link to the settling of America or pilgrims and Indians or anything like that.

Turkey is great if you cook it right but admittedly hard to cook right. The real stars of Thanksgiving meals are gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and other sides. The sides are where it's at.

Do you have jellied cranberry sauce that comes out in the shape of a can? Because if not, then that might be your problem.
