Worst: the guy who was always watching something and laughing loudly in that way like you could tell he wanted someone to go in there and ask him what was so funny, you know the type?

Best: college townie who stayed at her boyfriend's place so often I basically got the dorm room to myself (and she was fun when she was around).

Worst: Got arrested for selling drugs on the lawn.

Best: Asked if she could take some food I cooked to work and told me the people at work loved it. That made me happy.

Best: my current one. platonic soulmates.

Worst: a narcissistic slob of a womanchild who left food and dirty dishes to rot on the counters, treated me as a substitute for her mother (she was 30 and this was the first time she lived away from her parents), and constantly lied about how her friends were so mean to her. She filled the dvr with Dr Who so the rest of us couldn't record anything new, left trash literally on the floor of the kitchen rather than put it in the trash bin herself, and blamed me for not helping her with a cosplay when she never asked for help, trying to turn our friends against me.

I had them at the same time (I was under 25, in graduate school, I lived in a 6 person shared enormous 2 story apartment, it had 3 official bedrooms and we also used the livingroom, diningroom, and den as bedrooms) I had a total of, I think, 8 roommates in that apt.

Best roommates: A first year college prof who'd done his dissertation on fanfiction and his anime obsessed wife who introduced me to fanfic and anime, which I continue to love and adore. They also played D&D with me and my now husband. And are all around awesome people.

Worst roommate: A graduate student who was schizophrenic and must have gone off her medications because she painted her room with horrifying substances in scary patterns and then ranted at the top of her lungs at people no one else could see.

Also a terrible roommate: A woman who insisted I was a horrible person because I put apples in the pantry and one of them spoiled while I was away on a week visiting my family. She was apparently traumatized by seeing a rotten apple in a plastic bag that wasn't even her food. Her redeeming characteristic: she had a really hot girlfriend. I didn't even know I was bi back then - but her much older girlfriend was probably the first woman in her late 30s/early 40s I ever found attractive.

The other people were all acceptable but not amazingly great roommates.
