Weekend Plans

What is everyone doing this weekend?

Tonight and tomorrow I will be playing a lot of OW trying to get some Halloween skins. Sunday, I have to bake some cookies to send to for my Reddit gift exchange (Diwali themed).

I have to find a way to tell my mother that I already have other plans (a science festival with nerdy friends) that I don't want to cancel for her, even if I see my friends every other week and my mother once very three months. (Last time she came, she made me miss the Pride, humiliated me in front of my friends, and refused to respect my boundaries; I'm tired of alway letting her walk all over me and it's hard to remember that I love her when I'm angry at her.)

I'm not surprised you don't want to cancel your plans to see her. It sounds like the right call. When you tell her, don't give her any reason to argue with. Just tell her that doesn't work for you and end the conversation.

That sucks, have to be firm with her. Maybe try to set up something with her FAR in advance doing a neutral event you both enjoy?

I keep meaning to check out the reddit gift exchanges they look like fun. But I'm always busy around the holidays...

They have them year around. They do a new set about every three months. Out of the 25 exchanges I have done, I have only been shafted out of a gift twice. And I got a rematcher for one of those. For Secret Santa (the biggest one), I got a Kitchenaid Mixer one year!

My martial arts group does one every month and it's so much fun! We have a spend limit and each swap box must include at least one toy and one sweet. This month it also had to include a "trick" which was fun to plan. I sent a pink and purple Lego friends booklight to my swapper, a middle aged businessman. His daughter loves it and keeps asking if he's sure he doesn't want it back.

I'm finally done working and have a week of freedom! I'm going to finally write my exchange fics and read a book.

Taking a test that will hopefully fulfill the last requirement for my degree and working a shift of my job at a pet store that I started about 6 weeks ago.

if late Friday afternoon counts as the weekend I just came back from my favorite local cafe where I had a tea and a cupcake and I'm going to the movies with my friends tonight! No plans for the rest of the weekend though but it'd be hard to top last weekend.

I got a new book yesterday that I plan on starting tomorrow. From the synopsis online and the other book I've read by the same author, I'm expecting extremely sappy, fluffy, super predictable romance, but that's exactly what I need right now. Things have been so unendingly bleak for the past month and a half but today things finally lightened up a bit and it looks like it might actually be okay after all. So that's a huge relief and I'm excited to enjoy the weekend and not worry so much.

Also it's gotten super cold here within the past couple days and I'm way too excited about getting out my winter comforter and getting all cozy in bed tonight!

I have the weekend off. My ideal plan is to cook on Saturday and clean on Sunday but we'll see. I'm playing/reading Code: Realize Guardian of Rebirth which is extremely silly but still fun. Also I have the third season of Unforgotten to watch. I need to finish it before Yuletide sign-ups because I want to request it. It's only six episodes so I should manage it.
