The vast majority of my fandom ships are m/m. And I write a lot of original m/m stuff, too. I think for me it does have something to do with finding more interesting established dynamics between male characters than female characters - even if one female character is good, I need that spark between her and another one to make it work.

But I also write original f/f, and my biggest original fantasy epic is f/f.

I'm lesbian irl, for what it's worth, too. Could also be why I'm pickier with my f/f stuff - it can feel too real (or too wrong), but with m/m, it's pure fantasy.
