I spent some time on a discord server for one of my fandoms/ships and yeah, unless you're willing/able to check it 24/7 and live in the right timezone (and even then?), you just wind up feeling left out, talking into a void. And ugh, all the off-topic convos and stupid inside jokes. I get how and why it happens, it's great to be a part of it, but from the outside it's just annoying. I was much happier when I just got rid of the thing.

I love NOVA! PBS was one of five channels we got growing up, so it was one of the only shows my parents would let me watch.

Also, thanks for sharing this because I can't write while listening to music, either, and silence gets boring after a while. I'll definitely be giving this a try.

I don't produce content, but when I seek out romance-centric original works I always look for f/f but I also hang around fandoms for non-f/f serieses where I primarily ship m/m, so, +1 I guess.

Eh I wouldn't hold that against you, considering trans fanwork and cuntboy fanwork are completely different genres.

I don't think people who are into magical alien futa races or whatever are fetishizing mtf women either... unless they leave the realm of obvious fiction and start talking about or creeping on actual mtf women assuming they're the same or something. If it's obvious fiction and unrelated to reality, have fifteen dicks and four vaginas while looking like a giant caterpillar, who cares.

I find trans fanwork fetishizing actual trans people and trans angst more potentially offensive anyway

Voyager is my favorite too. I shipped B'Elanna/Tom. It's sad that you feel that this has to be a secret.

And at the time, having a female captain was a big deal. And so many of the other characters were great too. Unlike Next Generation where the only character I really liked was Tasha and once they killed her off, I stopped caring.
