Mostly it's just funny that a secret that seems to basically be about how this person hates it when people try to invalidate any non-hetero readings of characters has gotten quite a few responses with people...invalidating non-hetero readings of characters! Huh!
The thing is, in most shows, when a character is introduced, the default assumption is that the character is straight. While this is mostly correct, that doesn't mean that people should always close off the possibility that it might not be. And even for characters that are established to be definitely oriented one way or the other, I don't see why it's wrong that someone is able to enjoy perceiving them another way. I mean, it's fandom; why so serious?

oh, honey. *pats*. on one hand, i kind of want to laugh at you, yet on the other i feel so bad that youre missing out on the best part of fandom.

Straight, slash, or asexual, when it comes to fandom, no one's goggles need checking unless they're arguing that the truth beyond all possible other truths goes against a canon statement of sexuality. Even then, people are free to argue; but sure. Why not. Everyone could potentially be gay. They probably aren't, true, but every fan has a right to their own personal view, as long as they don't shove it down other's throats.
