Apparently, she hasn't listened to Part of Your World.

But seriously though, that's absolutely her prerogative as a parent, and maybe she's right, that that's what her daughter would take from the movies, but those messages are not what I got from them.

Ariel really, really wanted to know about the world on land and I feel like at least part of why she does what she does is reaction to her father's actions. Sure, wanting to see Eric is in the mix, but not her whole motivation by far.

Cinderella just wanted to dress up in nice clothes and go to a fancy ball and not have to deal with her crappy life for a night. And even though the prince danced with her, she just seemed to think of it as a nice thing to daydream about. It didn't seem to me like she thought there would be any more to it until the advisor was doing his search.
