I for one am glad to live in a country where people are able to say stupid shit and not get thrown in jail or killed. Roseanne's words were gross and wrong and she suffered the consequences for them. AS SHE SHOULD.

But at least we don't kill or jail anyone who doesn't say exactly what the ruling party wants. More and more countries are becoming Nanny States where if you say something ignorant or just what the people in power don't agree with they take away your voice. It's a slippery slope when because it's stupid people like Roseanne today and then it's people who don't agree with the government tomorrow.

God yes, the past few years have made me extremely grateful I don't live in the UK where you can get arrested for tweets.

I haven't been paying attention to free speech in the U.K. so...omg, getting arrested for tweets?!?
