Re: Why are all (translated from Japanese) light novels terribly written?

I've translated some segments of light novels, and it's because the typical Japanese writing style in light novels is structurally VERY different from English. You can't just translate it, you have to in effect rewrite the entire thing to make it flow naturally in English. A literal translation of a light novel will sound awkward and stilted, which is probably what you're encountering.
