It's Friday night, and I'm tipsy, so life is pretty good, but I'm pissed off that food has so many calories so.

So yesterday the power outlet, light socket, and switch in my tiny kitchen alcove died along with my porch light socket and bathroom power outlet. The reset switch in the bathroom’s not working and flipping the breaker (there’s only one that actually works which is probably half the problem) does nothing. Nothing’s to code and I can’t really afford an electrician. And today I came home to find my cat had thrown up all over my feather comforter, so I guess I get to haul my ass to the laundromat. Sigh. None of this is super serious but I’m tired.

I probably have PCOS, which my GP tells me puts me at risk of diabetes, so I'm probably gonna have to make some lifestyle changes. Which is a huge pain in the arse.

I've been playing D&D with some friends and their friends, and it's mostly okay... except last week I realised something.
Because life is complicated and busy, most of the members of the group have had to skip a few sessions, here and there. In fact, the only person who hasn't skipped a session (apart from the friends who host every session, because, well, they're the hosts) is me. The one week I couldn't attend, so many other people couldn't attend either that we cancelled.
This wouldn't be more than a very minor annoyance but for the other thing that occurred to me.
We aren't being awarded XP, and levelling up based on XP - we're just all taking a level at the end of each 'chapter'. So players who've come to every third session are advancing just as much as me!

This really shits me, but I can't say a damn thing about it - partly because like hell we're changing our system after this many week of play, and partly because I'm pretty certain everyone already thinks I'm a bitch.

When people complain constantly about things but won't do a damn thing to actually fix said things.

As an example, I left my old job earlier this year because I got fed up with the micromanagement and them not wanting to give us a decent amount of hours. I found a new job that's literally right across the street, pays better, and gives good, consistent hours. I'm still in touch with one of my coworkers from my old job who is as fed up with how things are going as I was, so I told her that my job was hiring and said she should put in an application and use me as a reference and that I would put in a good word with my boss for her. My boss likes me a lot and trusts my judgment so my former coworker would pretty much be a shoo-in if she were to apply.

That was months ago. Has she actually bothered to submit an application? Nope, but she sure is still complaining about how unhappy she is with her job. I'm losing my sympathy at this point because I offered her a good chance for an out and she hasn't even bothered to put in the effort to take it. What are you waiting for, a red carpet?

Yeah, I hate it when people do that. People like that aren't really THAT unhappy with their situation. Or more accurately, they like complaining more than they dislike their situation. Honestly, at this point you'd be better off NOT recommending her and don't be her outlet for whining, either. She's abusing your good will.

Hey, artist I commissioned over a year ago. I'm sure your depressions are bad, and I'm sorry. But if you have time for gaming, helping your girlfriend with cosplay, going to cons and posting selfies, you also gave time for a bloody update informing the people who gave you money that you already spent if you're ever going to actually start working on any of those commissions. It was quite a bit of money and guess what? Other people don't have money growing on trees either. So the very least you could do is giving updates more often than every six months!
You're lucky everyone is such a nice person who is understanding of your mental state because this is getting ridiculous. Really pays being a (former?) BNF/fandom darling, huh?
