It just overall rubs me the wrong way. To me, the dialogues feel clunky, the actors feel wooden and as much as I appreciate attempts at representation, the show is so damn soapboxy about everything that I can't watch it without cringing.

Also Salem doesn't talk. Boo.

I haven't watched the pilot yet. But no talking Salem? That right there is a sign the show isn't good. Salem was the best part of the original show.
