LOL, well I'm the opposite, I never shipped it; but before f_w and jfen died, there was definitely a turn from 'let's make fun of genuinely wanky/unbalanced shit' (e.g. the stuff you listed) to 'LOL HARMONIAN' and 'LOL SNAPEWIFE' being ever-present comments to almost any discussion of HP, and narcissam in particular posting stuff that would now be considered just text critiques/meta. I don't doubt shippers and fans of all stripes were nutcases, that's always been the identifying mark of the HP fandom; but f_w by their end was very strongly leaning towards the passionate defences of the series/JKR and ignoring the wanky behaviour of people who liked what they liked.
