That's... quite paranoid. Unless you normally write like Chaucer and regularly express your passionate opinions on what daemons the characters of Next to Normal would have, I doubt even the most dedicated stalker could actually tell.

TBH I get where they're coming from, even though I also know it's not a rational fear. It's just the way my brain is.

Just wanna give some love for a Next to Normal reference.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-31 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Listening to the soundtrack right now :)

I wouldn't even leave anon comments on fics because I thought people would know who I was because of how I constructed a sentence.

(I'm not the OP)

Not the OP, but now I'm seriously thinking about the daemons of the Next to Normal characters.

(Anonymous) 2018-11-01 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Same.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-31 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think anyone would be able to tell it's you... Do people here even know your writing style?

(Anonymous) 2018-10-31 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Learned English as a second English basically through the Internet, I worry that I use certain phrases too often because that's all I know, or I make certain grammar mistakes in the same way all the time because I never learned proper grammar and people are too polite to correct me. Or my sentence structures all look the same because that's the only way my brain can come up with English sentences. I don't know, it's not entirely rational, probably.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-31 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't worry too much about it. People who've learned English as a second language often underestimate their abilities. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would never have guessed that you weren't a native speaker.

Because of the frog, I read "files" as "flies" at first.

(Anonymous) 2018-11-01 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Most people will never figure it out. But someone could. I've ID'd pseudonymous people by an odd usage before. Sometimes I only suspect, sometimes I can confirm. I've been right about 80%

[[suspision intensifies]]

(Anonymous) 2018-11-01 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder that too, but my secrets never get too much attention so I figure it doesn’t matter.

(Anonymous) 2018-11-03 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
I completely agree.
I have this problem with most things actually... Even when it comes to commenting. I've had people close to me point out that they knew it was me, despite being anonymous;; But that wasn't really surprising, given I'd say the same thing to them multiple times before I ever posted my comment. (and we were close enough to know how I usually phrase things..)

My fears even have to do with reviewing... Especially in one particular fandom;; Which isn't necessarily small, but (the paring at least) is lead by only a few individuals. I didn't quite realise it at first, switching between websites to find content, that the same person I adored in one fic, I absolutely hated in another;; and because I'm an idiot, I only found the nerve to say something about the I hated... I realised it fairly quickly, that they were the same author, and sent a half baked (essentially offensive;;) apology to them immediately... Anonymously.
But I am terrified to review anything more, partly because I can't due to my shitty internet, but more so because I don't want to be recognised as that asshole who flamed their favourite author... especially by that author herself;;

Ehh;;
Totally an unrelated rant;; Sorry;;
