Why not try? I love animals. I personally prefer to keep it as a hobby so it is what I can escape from work with. But I think working with animals could be amazingly good for some people. You don't know if you are going to fail until you try.

Also, if you don't already, start volunteering at your local shelter. Most of them are always looking for volunteers, and it may give you a feel for if you really want to work with animals.

Ayrt - yep I started looking into volunteering today. My schedule was super all over the place for a while but my most recent job has said they are going to give me a regular weekly schedule soon so hopefully that should make it easier.
