How do you explain to people that you're tired of hearing politics not because you like Trump, not because you don't care, but because after the first ten posts about how the world's going to end at Trump's hands, you just want to think about something else before you have a literal anxiety attack?

Don't phrase it in terms of not wanting to hear about politics at all or being tired of politics. Lead with the idea that you oppose Trump, and say that you're trying to control how you engage with the news for your mental health and self care.

There are a lot of complicated details and nuances - there are with everything in life. For pretty much any given topic, if you don't know what to say about it, you can say "it's complicated" and you'd be right.

At the same time, you can have complications existing and also have a broad sweeping generalization that's largely true/correct/useful/meaningful at the same time.

I say 'political stuff makes me so ragey and anxious i have to cut myself off after about ten minutes. I'm turning off some posts online, too, so i don't see them all the time'.
