They ate extremely well-written books. Honestly, her writing style is absolutely phenomenal. I think the only weak point is the plot, it starts out engaging but kind of fizzles in the third book.

Why are multiple anons talking about rape tropes though. Lol that objectively did not happen. Did you guys read the books beyond the title?

I'm not one of the anons claiming this was a rape-to-love series, but Laurent did order Damen's rape in the first book.

I agree, I mean damn, this thread needs more middle ground.

I do not recall that from my version as it had something similar in the beginning but still in the other kingdom bit. No idea if I misremember or it changed later on since there was few versions.

Reading this thread without any knowledge of the series was like watching a pingpong match.

OP: This series is rape-to-love.

Me: That sounds rather bad.

Anon: No, it isn't! In fact, the MCs don't do it for several books!

Me: Oh okay, so there's no rape?

Other anon: Eeeeexcept for this scene where one character orders a courtesan to perform oral sex on the other guy, who's unwilling.

Me: ...so there IS rape?

I'm kinda getting the feeling like maybe both sides are sorta exaggerating the negatives and positives here, guys. Though I was intrigued by the claim that the writing is PHENOMENAL, so I went ahead and read an excerpt from a later boo, and... Yeesh. No.
