Terry Farrell didn't renew her contract for the last season. So...that's kinda her fault that her character was killed off.

Well, first of all, this secret is not about how Farrell felt, and also, she was treated pretty badly by one of the producers who made her feel less valued than she was as a series regular on top of regularly harassing her, which contributed to her bowing out of the show rather than negotiating for less of a prominent role.

Didn't she want to move to Becker?

At some point giving her less episodes would have supposedly been on the table, which wouldn't have led to killing off the character. I can't remember who's who, but the not-shitty producer straight up told her later on they would have tried to keep her under her new conditions if the other guy had told him what was going on.

Link or anything?

(Anonymous) 2018-11-07 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Bleh, I'd like to know which producer was the shitty one at least

(Anonymous) 2018-11-07 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Rick Berman.

Google "who harassed terry farrell" -- there are interviews.

(Anonymous) 2018-11-07 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize Berman was actually involved with DS9 on any real basis

The series was created by Berman and Pillar. Berman remained executive producer for all 7 seasons.

I always figured it was just a credit he got for being in charge of all of Star Trek at the time

and also, I always heard that the reason that DS9 was better than Voyager was because Voyager was the show that Berman spent all of his time on and paid attention to

I think it was Pillar who went off to showrun Voyager?

And then Ira Steven Behr came in as the DS9 showrunner.

Ira Steven Behr is the fucking best

Thanks, I was thinking it was him but I wasn't sure.

(Anonymous) 2018-11-07 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Fuck Rick Berman, seriously. So many bad Trek choices were his doing.
